Well, I kind of slacked on the whole countdown part. We finally have our new mailbox in, and it only took 4 weeks to find the right one. Apparently, Beazer uses the same mailbox in most of the neighborhoods they build, but you can’t find them in a common hardware store. I guess the whole uniform aspect is one of the joys/irritations of living in an association. I can put up with that if it keeps the riff-raff out, and protects our property values.
Computer literates like myself don’t have a problem with “non-tech” people. We only have a problem with folks that think they know, don’t really know and then question the way we do things. This video is hilarious! Anyone that’s in a corporate environment will appreciate it. It does have some salty language, so for those concerned by that type of thing, you’ve been warned.
It’s about time for football to be here. I really can’t get into any of the summer sports. Other than Nashville Predator hockey, I don’t get into anything besides football. Of course my college didn’t have football, so I pull for the team my dad raised me to pull for, Alabama. Needless to say, I’ve had my share of ribbing over the years. Even though recent years have been mostly embarrassing, I’ve never let my love of the Crimson Tide wane. It can be frustrating to be a Tide fan. The national media treats us as an easy punchline. So what. Whether Nick Saban has a short stay or a long one, the Tide will be better off with having him coach there. I’ll talk more about my pro team, the Titans, another time.
I’ve found the “official” new home for Scrubs. I must say, I might just cry. This may be the best show since Tom Selleck sported the porno ‘stach. Here’s ABC’s long version promo.
Lynn and I are self-described “foodies”. We tried One Hundred West’s Sunday brunch recently, and found it to be divine. Needless to say, it was a spiritual experience. I’ve gone to get us takeout the last couple of nights there, and it is just as brilliant. The staff is unbelievably friendly. If you haven’t been, you must go. If not for yourself, then for someone you love. It’s about 1 mile down from the Loveless Cafe on Highway 100.
What would we do if world peace could be achieved in this manner?
Okay, we’re now on day 13 of no mailbox. Since I don’t feel like crying, check this video of Frank Caliendo on the Mike and Mike show. He does several of his impersonations. It’s long, but well worth it.
I apparently have a lot to say today. I am tired of not having any say with my HOA. Beazer, our builder, has not released the HOA to the residents of our community. Besides the obvious annoyances, here is just one really irritating thing about this situation. Since some idiot bulldozed my mailbox two weeks ago, I’ve had to go through endless phone calls just to try to figure out what to do. There is no way I’m going to go buy a mailbox, only to have to pull it up because the HOA says it’s not in compliance. It has been two weeks, and we still don’t have a resolution. Meanwhile, I can’t get my mail. WTF!!!
I am going to start a mailbox watch. My mailbox was murdered in the early morning hours of August 2nd. It is now August 14. We are on day 12. I’ll update you until I finally get a mailbox.
Hopefully you like the new design. While I added the header and some other things, the theme is Cutline by Chris Pearson. The second iteration of Cutline is used for Sanders Media. This the best made theme I’ve come across, and people should tell him so on his blog.
I’ve been working so hard on my other two sites, I haven’t bothered paying enough attention to this one. This is the one place where I can let my hair down (what’s left, anyway). Here, my unabashed, dogmatic love of Apple, inc. will flow like the river Jordan. My love of the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Tennessee Titans will have some questioning my geek creds. Oh well, you can’t please everyone. If I sound like I’m rambling, well, I guess I am. I just wanted to write an update.
