Zombie Farmers

Even though I don’t have the iPhone 3G S, I am very intrigued by it’s video function. One of the bartenders at the Jim ‘N Nicks near our house, Andy Weathers, shot this movie entirely with his iPhone 3G S. He used iMovie for the editing. I was quite impressed with the quality of the video. Of course, I have to hand to the folks that made the movie. It was awesome in a George Romero sort of way.

Really Funny Kevin Smith Animation

Anyone who reads this space is well aware of my affinity for Kevin Smith. He and his longtime producer, Scott Mosier, have a podcast called SModcast. Some creative folks animated a clip from SModcast. I hope you enjoy. BTW, there is some salty language.

I Love You Man

i_love_you_man

I watched I Love You Man the other day. I was actually disappointed that I didn’t see it in the theater. It was absolutely hilarious.

I’ve always been a fan of Paul Rudd, and Rashida Jones is terrific in The Office. They worked very well together. I’ve never seen How I Met Your Mother, so I’d never seen Jason Segel. I was very impressed with his comedic timing. He and Paul Rudd had terrific chemistry. Jane Curtin, J.K. Simmons, Andy Samberg, Lou Ferrigno and John Favreau provided great cameos.

I highly recommend this film. Especially to those guys involved in a “bromance”.

Deliver Us From Evil

I watched the 2006 Amy Berg documentary, Deliver Us From Evil, last night. To say it was harrowing and heart-breaking would be an understatement. It is the story of Father Oliver O’Grady and the abuse he perpetrated on dozens of children in California.

It is also the story of the cover-up by the Roman Catholic Church. The cover-up enabled Roger Mahoney to continue his ascent up the church’s hierarchical ladder. He is now the Cardinal of Los Angeles. The film features powerful interviews with the victims and their families. I highly recommend it.

Tomato Arts Fest Was Fun

It was a lot of fun seeing all you folks at the 2009 Tomato Arts Fest. For those that aren’t familiar, the Tomato Arts Fest is held in East Nasvhille’s Five Points area. Vendors from the area have booths set up, and local artists perform on stages setup throughout the area.

If you couldn’t make it today, make sure you come next year.
